Want to get involved, meet new friends and build your leadership skills all at the same time? Then ASSC is for you!

ASSC represents a variety of ages, backgrounds, interests and academic majors. All students are invited to participate and gain valuable leadership, planning and communication skills.

All Skyline College students are members of student government, the Associated Students of Skyline College (ASSC). Students vote to elect the ASSC Governing Council, which has the responsibility of representing all Skyline students.

Join the ASSC Governing Council

If you are interested in political activism, increasing cultural awareness, developing communication, or building leadership skills, you belong on the ASSC Governing Council.

The ASSC Governing Council coordinates and facilitates lobbying at the state and federal level, planning activities, adopting and supervising the ASSC budget, participating in college committees, and sharing in the development of college policies. The ASSC Governing Council also serves as a resource to Skyline clubs and organizations.

Students with a minimum 2.0 G.P.A. and enrolled in at least six units are eligible to participate. Leadership positions are obtained through elections or by appointment. Download the application below, or go to the Student Activities Office, Room 6212, for forms and information.

Required Candidate Meetings

All candidates must attend at least one ASSC meeting in order to run for office. Meetings are held on Wednesdays at 2 P.M. in Room 6203, Building 6. Contact the ASSC if you are unable to make the meetings because of a conflict with your academic schedule.
