Carolyn Livengood

Carolyn LivengoodA President's Council charter member, Carolyn was the first recipient of the “Skyline Shines Award.”  Her Skyline College contributions began in 1964 when she became the North County chairwoman of the first bond campaign to build the college and was precinct chairwoman of the second bond issue in 1968.  She was a member of the first graduating class in 1971, and the first Skyline Alumni Association.

 San Mateo County Times columnist, her other professional experiences include: insurance policywriter/auditor/supervisor, marketing/sales, export clerk, lecturer, tour guide, and classified advertising sales.In 2004, she was inducted into the San Mateo County Women's Hall of Fame. She is president of the Avenue of Flags Committee for Golden Gate National Cemetery; and a board member of SMC Jobs for Youth and the Sequoia High School Alumni Association (she received a 2006 Unsung Hero Award and worked on the Sequoia Tea Garden restoration and the Veterans Memorial Committee).  She solicits donations for the USO/SFO, Golden Gate National Cemetery, the homeless, schools, etc., and serves on various San Bruno and San Mateo County committees and commissions.  

She was a 25-year San Bruno Citizen's Crime Prevention Committee member and four-year chairwoman.  She retired from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in 2006 after 25 years of service including being a past commander. Her varied personal interests include nature's beauty.
